Spring or Easter

That is the choice of themes for this weeks Sugar Bowl challenge, I thought I'd try this week but at first didn't think I should use this image - after all 'Cosy Nellie" might be seen more as a wintry image. However, if you live in Scotland as I do, just because it's officially spring now does not mean that hats and scarves can be put back in the cupboard for winter - it's far too cold! So here she is, I used Spring Fling papers from Blonde Moments and paper pieced the stamped image to tie in nicely with the background. Hope you like it!

Daisy & Dandelion challenge

Just found this new challenge blog and they are only on their 3rd challenge which is Friends this week. I had recently been sent a few of these lovely images as part of an image swap so decided to take part with this card.

The embossed card blank I used is called Retro Circle and is from DCWV, the paper is from a colossal pack by Papermania, the Bee image is from PSX and the sentiment from Wood Cellar Graphics.

My favourite blogger Kirsty Wiseman has just launched a brilliant CD Patti Picilicious Printables of her new designs which includes loads of papers, sentiments and cute images all for a very reasonable price, go and take a look over here it seems they're flying out of the door! Good luck with the launch at Harrowgate Kirsty.

My favourite things

My favourite things is the challenge this week on the Charisma Cardz blog, I have made this card with my favourite stamps at the moment - one of my Gorjuss Girls from Funky Kits. Also I have drawn some of my favourite flowers (poppies) and cut them out and stuck them down with foam pads around her feet.

Creative Inspirations challenge

Today I've made this card for the Creative Inspirations challenge no 5 which has been set by Roz. She chose Humerous as the subject for this week so I hope that this card fits the bill!
I used backing paper from the Papermania Naughty & Nice pack, the image (which came from a grab bag of unmounted stamps a few years back) was coloured with Promarkers - yep I got some new colours!

A card for Mum

Not been a great day today - life's a bitch sometimes isn't it? The next few days will be busy, working tomorrow and Friday, out with friends Friday night, craft fair Saturday and then it's Mother's Day so may not have much time for blogging or challenges. Next week should be better though, only 3 short shifts at work and Scrapbooking group to look forward to.

I made this card to give to my mum for Mother's Day this weekend. The Penny Black image was coloured with Promarkers - must get some new colours, getting fed up using the same ones all the time!! The pink backing paper is from Papermania and I customised it with one of my Lavinia stamps, the other is Basic Grey Sugared, the initial letters used for 'MUM' are Hero Arts, the ribbon is Anita's and I'm afraid I don't know where the 'for you' is from.

Creative Inspirations Mother's Day

I was sent this lovely Whiff of Joy image Willow with Flower Basket in a swap this week and thought she'd make a lovely Mother's Day card. The theme for the Creative Inspirations challenge this week is Mother's Day and has to include flowers so I thought this card would be suitable. I coloured the image with Promarkers and layered it onto white card, I inked and distressed the edges and mounted it on a lilac pearlescent card which also has distressed edges. The backing papers are by Papermania and Laura Ashley. I used lace, organza ribbon, flowers and buttons from my stash.

Off to work very soon and have Scrapbooking group after work so rushing a bit now. Got a few cards made yesterday so wanted to show one this morning. I like the simplicity of this design and hope you will too. The backing paper is from Southfield Stationers and the embellishments are from my stash.

At last some time to play

Last week was so busy I hardly had time to get any crafting done at all and the weekend was taken up with a craft fair and commissions. So it was after work yesterday before I finally had a chance to have a proper look at my new Gorjuss stamps from Funky Kits. They really are fabulous to work with and I tried colouring some with my Promarkers and some with Prismacolours - both worked well - then made up a couple of cards. One of the cards is below and I've decided to enter it for the Papertake Weekly challenge. The sketch is by Dawny and was a nice simple one this week.

So here is my card -

The yellow & pink backing paper was a free download from Jessica Sprague and the lilac spotty one is from Papermania. The flourishes are Sizzix die cuts and the flowers and brads are from my stash. The sentiment is from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

Cards for Kirsty

Was really excited this week to be asked to design a couple of cards using the uber talented Kirsty Wiseman's new range of papers - soon to be available on her very first CD which you can see over on her Patti Picklicious blog. These three cards are what I made for her. The papers on all three and the sentiment on the first card are from the Persia set.

I really enjoyed doing these and hope you like them.
