Callenge 24 at Creative Inspirations

Today's card is for Owen's girlfriend's birthday on Tuesday and my DT one for Creative Inspirations - the theme Sewing/Faux Stitching was chosen by our fabulous teamie Tracy and we are sponsored this week by Whimsy Stamps and also by Glitterbabe

My image is Whiff of Joy - 'Willow Dressing Up' which I won a few weeks ago in a challenge and this her first outing, I have used some of my favourite turquoise coloured card for this and the Papermania designer papers fitted perfectly with how I had coloured Willow. The sentiment is from Woodware.

Just a break

Taking a very short break from the tidying and organising to share a card. Tilda was coloured with Promarkers and a white Sakura glaze pen, I added Stickles on her hem, wings and crown. I used a punch to cut my circle as I have lost my Nestabilities - can't believe it - I had put them on magnetic sheets stored in a plastic sleeved book and when I went to get them out yesterday they had vanished - all of them, my Nellie dies are still there but the Nestabilities have gone - AAArgh! I have spent a couple of hours looking but just don't have time to look any more for now so I'll just have to get on and hope that they turn up soon.
Anyway, back to the card, I ran my punched circle through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then rubbed a pink ink pad on the embossed ares and the edges. The papers are Papermania and the flowers are Prima.

Have to get back to the dreaded housework - bye for now!

This one suits a bunch of different challenges:
SSCC - Distress
Quixotic - Emboss It
Stampavie - Birthday Girl
Charisma - Going round in circles
Everybody Art - Fairytale

Where is everyone?

I guess all of you lovely bloggers are out enjoying the sunshine, I know I should be too but have too much to do this week to spend time outdoors. Looking forward to having my sister Gillian to visit this weekend so household chores are top of my agenda but also have to fit in visiting Mum in hospital, a few card commisions, getting Owen outfitted for his High School Prom which is coming up in a couple of weeks, huge pile of ironing - need I go on!
Anyway I've a new card to share if anyone out there is interested and this one is for the very first challenge at Pear Tree Designs which is run by my blogging buddy Donna, her brand new digi designs can be found here so go and check them out. The first challenge is a sketch -

and this is my take - I have used Bloom & Grow papers in addition to the orange one from K&Co, the felt border I recieved from a friend and the flowers are new ones from Petaloo, sentiment is Hero Arts.

Also I decorated the inside, which is a first for me, for the Crafty Cardmakers challenge - Inside Out and I'm entering the card for these challenges:

Boyzone

It has been very hot here this weekend which is unusual for this small part of Scotland - we had snow only a fortnight ago! I have had to work this afternoon at the library where the temperature was 82 degrees and there were very few customers so it was a long and tedious afternoon, motivation was as thin on the ground as customers!

Before I went in though, I had time to make this card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge. This week the theme is Boyzone and since I am always low on cards for boys I decided to take up the challenge. My image is a Mo Manning drawing called They Grow so Fast which I have coloured with Promarkers to fit in with the K&Co Hopscotch papers. I have added an extra image of a dragonfly and the sentiment to fit in with the recipe at Fussy and Fancy who are looking for 3 papers, 3 images and 3 types of embellishments (buttons, brads and eyelets)

Also entering the challenges at
Friday Sketchers - Sketch
DU2D - One for the Boys
Stamp with Fun - Stripes

Celebrations

Two reasons to celebrate in our house this week - first was Neil's birthday on Monday which we actually celebrated on Sunday when we managed to have all 3 kids + boyfriend and girlfriend over for a meal and cake - a lot of fun, and today is our 20th anniversary. We are going into Edinburgh to see some exhibitions and plan to go to the Palace of Holyrood at the foot of the Royal Mile, I've lived in Edinburgh since I was 17 years old (not telling how many years!) but have never been in the Palace before!

Before I go off and get ready to go I just wanted to share the card I made for Neil's birthday. It is a bit different from the cards I usually show on my blog but I really like it so would love to hear what you think :o)

I used my new Stampin Up Bird on a Branch punch, papers from K&Co and some felt flowers I picked up in Hobbycraft.

The card fits the following challenges:
Cards for Men - Outdoors
Crazy Challenge - Something New (my punch)
Allsorts - Birthday
Papertake - Say it with Flowers

End of another week

...where do they go! It's been a much calmer day today, not quite so worried about Mum as I know she is safe and being looked after for the time being, so I actually had time to get a couple of cards made - my DT card for Creative Inspirations which I'll be sharing on Sunday and this one which is for this week's Just Magnolia challenge - One for the Girls.

I followed the sketch from I Love Promarkers and used Papermania papers along with Bazzil cardstock and the lovely Tilda image was sent to me by a forum buddy, thanks so much Natalie! The lilac flowers were actually from another good friend as part of an embellishment swap so thanks also to Debbie :o)

Also entering for these challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Fairies (you can just see those wings!)
Your Next Stamp - Cut it out & Pop it up

Another quickie

I've had to spend the best part of the last 3 days with my poor Mum who hasn't been very well so have got really behind with my work and must get some serious crafting done today. There is a big craft fair next week and I have practically run out of stained glass suncatchers so today I'll be cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering until I have to go to work at the library in the evening! I did this challenge card after spending most of the day with Mum on Tuesday but I'm not entirely happy with it :o( however since I have done nothing else this week I'm posting it anyway!
I followed the sketch at Creative Card Crew and the Strawberries & Cream theme from Passion for Promarkers, added buttons to fit in with the Cupcake challenge and because it's pink and girly I'm also entering it for the Crafty Angels challenge - One for the Girls

Oh dear - forgot to add that my image is another gorgeous Mo Manning one

A piece of cake

I saw that this week's challenges at C.R.A.F.T and at Charisma both had Weddings as their theme and I knew that I had a great Wedding Cake image in my digi downloads folder so off I went to fetch some card to print it on to but could I find the image - could I heck!! Neil recently had a cleanup and was backing up all our files onto the external hard drive and has somehow managed to delete a huge quantity of digi images, papers and digi scrapbook kits which I've spent 2-3 years collecting, many were free downloads but some were ones I had paid for - I had quite a large collection from Pink Petticoat so I'm really disappointed. However I decided to quickly make a digi cake of my own so that I could make the card I had in mind - and this is it:

The backing paper is from Papermania, the sentiment and the scalloped punch are from Stampin Up and the border punch is a Martha Stewart one.

In the pink

Yey - a day crafting, I've really enjoyed getting some cards made (including a birthday card for someone who shall remain nameless until she is in receipt of said card!! ) and getting my fingers inky! My desk is now looking as if a bomb has hit it so just as well I'm not taking part in What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - although I do really enjoy seeing where other people create their fantastic cards (loving your furry assistant Heidi!)

Anyway here is one of today's creations - Tilda in the pink. The papers are from Papermania and the flowers were created using my Dotty Blooms digi stamps which I spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist before scrumpling (technical term) and glueing together the layers then adding the pink buttons to finish. Sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Die Cut Dreams - Tilda in Pink
Cards & Things - Sketch
Passion for Promarkers - Gratitude
Whoopsi Daisy - As you like it
Incy Wincy - Anything Goes
and
Totally Stampalicious - Flower Power
