Goodness a second post

Unusual for me but I've got another project to share today and this one is for a guest design spot at Gingerloft - I was a top three choice on one of their challenges a few weeks ago and as well as winning a lovely image which I've used on my card I was invited to be a GDT for their new challenge today which is Bows. The lovely ribbon I have used for my bow actually came from Tesco again. The felt snowflakes were a gift from my daughter Lynsey last year (running out Lyns hint, hint!).

Entering this for challenges at:
Allsorts - Monochrome
Craft Your Days Away - Texture
Just Us Girls - 3d holiday embellishments
Our Daily Bread Designs - Snowflakes
Mark's Finest Paper - Add a bow

It's a gift

At Creative Inspirations our new challenge for the fortnight is Christmas Gifts and we'd love to see all your ideas and creations, the team have done some lovely work for your inspiration so go and check out the blog and enter your own gift.

I followed a tutorial for my gift box but I bookmarked it on my other computer which is still away for repair so I don't have the details at the moment - will add the link as soon as I find it! The great thing about this box is that you just need 1 A4 piece of cardstock to make it - I think I might be making a few more of these before the big day!

I used papers from Stampin Up and a Pollycraft Elf image, some ribbon from Tesco (!) and Stampin Up punches to punch out the sentiment.

Wags n' Whiskers - Wrap it up
MAWTT - More than one fold

Friday again, can't believe how fast this week has gone, and another Christmas Craft Fair tomorrow. So before I run off to finish off some stained glass snowflakes and make sure I'm all packed up and ready for the morning, I wanted to share another Christmas card - I've been selling them almost as fast as I can make them so I hope I'm going to have time to make some for my own friends and family!

This one is using a Sugar Nellie stamp designed by Mary Hall and was coloured with promarkers, the backing paper is DCWV. The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Wishing all visitors to my blog a great weekend!

Yesterday was my son Owen's eighteenth birthday - a day he has been waiting for since he was about 12! He didn't want a fuss - no party, no paricular presents - all he wanted was to be 18. We have had him counting down the months, the weeks, the days and even the hours and at last the day finally arrived - what a happy young man he was yesterday :o)

So here is the card that I made for him

Crafty Creations does Christmas

Yes today's new challenge at Crafty Creations is Christmas and we would be delighted to see all your Christmas cards and projects! Our sponsor this week is Blackleaf Studios who generously supplied the team with some of their Traditional Christmas Stamps to use on our creations, our winner will get a $10 gift certificate for the store.

I chose the Bauble design and because it was so pretty I decided to keep my card very simple so that the image really stands out. I coloured it with Promarkers and added some crystal Stickles for a bit of sparkle. I then inked the edge of  the white cardstock to add some definition and mounted it on some gorgeous patterned, glittered paper from Kars. I added a piece of ruffled ribbon and then made the sentiment tag (sentiment from Stampin Up) adding a couple of flat backed pearls to finish it off.

Entering this for the challenges at:
Incy Wincy - Blue & white
Pollycraft - Feeling blue
Scrap Creations - Blue & white or silver

Thank crunchie it's Friday

Really, it's not been a good week here - firstly our computer has given up the ghost and we are going to have to replace it somehow :o( -  then my glass cutting ringsaw broke and after replacing the belt and diamond blade it still is making a worrying noise and I'm frightened to use it in case the new blade snaps ( they cost £65 + postage) - various minor houshold items have fallen apart and to add insult to injury I lost a filling - now left wondering what on earth is next??
I have, while waiting for the replacement parts for the ringsaw, been able to fit in some cardmaking so have one to share tonight. The papers and snowflake stamp are from Stampin Up, the image is Whiff of Joy and was coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from Bizzy Becs.

I'd like to enter this for the following challenges:

Another Christmas card

Hello everyone, it's got so late and I really meant to post this much earlier today but having to share one laptop is seriously curtailing my blogging time - on the plus side I have got quite a few new cards made in the past couple of days :o)
Here is the one I'd like to share tonight, the image I'm sure I got from In Style Stamps last Christmas (although I have had a quick look at the site & can't find this image now). The image was coloured with Promarkers to work with the lovely pink backing paper from Dovecraft, the little trees are a Cuttlebug die cut, the snowflakes are punched and the sentiment is a freebie from Scrapdictive

Crafty Cardmakers challenge

The new challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers is to create a card and gift and I chose to make a notebook and card set which were very quickly snapped up at the craft fair I did on Saturday - note to self: make more!!

I made my little notebook as the gift, first cutting plain chipboard for covers and then cartridge paper for the inside pages, I then covered the chipboard with a neutral patterned paper and, using distress inks, sponged around the edges. I then coloured a piece of white cardstock with distress ink and stamped the script as a background then distressed the edges with my scissors. The bird, flourish and word stamps are all from PaperArtsy Hot Pick 1005 and they were stamped also with distress inks. I then bound it together with my Bind it All.

For the card I used the same patterned paper, again inked around the edges and used a Stampin up punch to give it the notebook style edge, this time I used a PaperArtsy die to cut the bird shape and then stamped the image. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Our design team and this week's guest designer Hope Jacare  (Claire) have made some lovely cards & gifts - pop over to Crafty Cardmakers for some inspiration!

I'm entering these in the following challenges:
Gingerloft - Great outdoors
Fairy Tale - Everything goes

Fables & Fairy Tales

Today I'm sharing my DT card for this week's Crafty Creations challenge - Fables & Fairy Tales. Our sponsor Meljens kindly provided a few images for us to work with and I chose Little Red Riding Hood for my card.

I combined the digi Red Riding Hood with my own digi Spring Tree available from Cardmadfairy's Creations to create a little scene - I added a naughty wolf by hand & you should be able to spot him hiding behind a tree. The image was coloured with Promarkers and Distress Inks and mounted on white card. The backing paper is Secret Garden by Papermania, sentiment is Stampin Up and the ribbon is from my stash. Hope you can join in with the challenge this week.

Crafty Cardmakers do Stitching

A second post from me today - very unusual! Please scroll down to see my earlier post about my new Christmas digi stamps released today.

Our new challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers is to use stitching on your card - either real or faux stitching is acceptable.  I have gone for faux stitching on my card - getting the sewing machine out requires major disruption and unfortunately I didn't have time for that! I drew a line of zigzag stitch down the left hand side of my card with a fineliner, then on my next layer of Kars patterned paper I used a paper piercing tool to make holes all around the edge then added 'stitching' with a white sakura pen. I repeated the process down both sides of my mounted image and this time used the fineliner again to create the impression of stitches. My image is from Pollycraft and has been coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I am entering this card for the following:
The Crafty Pad - Stitching
Stampavie - Christmas
Pollycraft - It's chill time
Fussy & Fancy - Winter Wonderland
Ellephantastic - Blue
