A bit of summer sunshine

We're off to a lovely sunny start here in Scotland but I'm not sure how long we've got before it will be back to the thunderstorms and rain which have been with us for the last week! Doesn't matter too much to me as I'm off to work for the next 7 days on the trott but I do feel sorry for all the tourists and the school kids who are now on their summer holidays. The card I'm sharing today is how I'd like the next few weeks to be - hot, sunny and ice cream weather!
The fun papers are by Cosmo Cricket, image is Molly & Booboo by Mayzyart avaiable from the Etsy shop here and coloured with Promarkers. I've used some old ribbon from my stash and some brads that have been around for ages - I think they're from Papermania but I can't be sure about that.

The final 16th

Today's card is the last of the 3 16th birthday cards I have done for one of my colleagues at the library, this one was for her daughter Melissa who is having a Big Fat Gypsy themed birthday party and will be wearing a corset and tutu outfit. I really had to scour the internet for a digi image to suit and eventually found this one by Make it Crafty, I needed to cut off the back of her long ruffled skirt but other than that the image was perfect for my card. I coloured the image with promarkers and added some stickles to the ruffles on her skirt. I used some chipboard letter which came free with this month's copy of Home made magazine and used Glossy Accents to add a generous sprinkle of glitter strands for extra sparkle.

Another sweet sixteen

It has been a little bit hectic here for the past week - preparing for craft sessions at work, making metres & metres of bunting for my sister’s ‘Big Birthday party’ which is happening at the weekend, clearing our attic which started as a small job but turned into a much bigger one when Neil got involved (!) and tidying, making beds etc for other sis and neice coming to stay for the weekend. Doesn't leave a lot of time for crafting but I have someow managed to finish off a couple of new monkeys and a piggy for the shop and fit in some commisioned cards.
Summer is the theme for today’s new challenge at Charisma Cardz and I have made the second of three 16th birthday cards needed by a colleague as this week’s dt project. The image is Kenny K and was coloured with Promarkers.

New challenge at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days

My card today is for the Cardmadfairy's Digi Days challenge where the theme for the next two weeks is Father's Day or something masculine, and as I have no need of a Father's day card nowadays I've just gone for a masculine one. I used the digi stamp Henry for my card (find him here) and coloured the image with my Letraset Tria markers adding Frayed Burlap Distress ink to the edges of my cardstock, the backing papers are Basic grey and the sentiment was computer generated. The string is recycled and the metal charm is from a set my sister gave me at Christmas.

Travel

Apologies for being such a bad blogger recently, I've been very busy making sock monkeys since setting up my new online shop but loving that they are proving so popular :o) Here are some of the latest additions:

Now for the point of today's post, it's my design team card for this week's new challenge at Charisma Cardz where the theme this time is Travel. I have used a Gorjuss stamp and combined it with a Stampin Up image of the Eiffel Tower. I coloured my Gorjuss stamp with Promarkers and used chalks to make a soft sky behind the images. The papers are from a set by Cosmo Cricket and the sentiment was from a free set which I got with Homemade magazine a month or two ago.
We are sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp and Pink Cat Studio so pop on over to Charisma and enter the challenge for your chance to win!
