Have a Hoot

Today's new challenge at Charisma Cardz is a little unusual but it's also a challenge I enjoy - limiting the colours to just a couple makes me think a little harder than a palate that's wide open! This week we have had to base our cards on the colours of our national flag and as I have lived in Scotland for the majority of my life my flag is the St Andrew's Cross, so blue and white were the only colours I had to play with.
I started by stamping the cute owl image from Woodware onto white card and used Promarkers to add some blue, the wings were stamped separately onto blue cardstock and then stuck on with sticky fixers, I added white dots with a Posca pen. I then stamped flowers onto some more blue cardstock to create a bit of a background and then layered on some printed cardstock. Next I added a border to the image with a scalloped nesting die and added some faux stitching round the white card to tie in with the 'stitching' on the image. I stamped out the sentiment and cut it out using a punch from Stampin Up and then finished it all off with a bit of organza ribbon and a few little sticky backed diamonte gems.
