The Stamp Something blog has a new challenge today - Paper Piece Something is this week's theme and the sponsor is Whiff of Joy stamps. We have two new Design Team Members for you to check out - Janna Sicard who started last week and Rowena Barnard who starts this week and I would like to say congrats to both of them and welcome to the team!
Anyway onto my card for this week's challenge, I have used one of my favourite Whiff of Joy stamps - Carol singing Charlotte and I have paper pieced her with the background papers I've used from the Bloom and Grow paper set from My Mind's Eye, I added some glitter to Charlotte's hat and finished the card off with Brenda Walton ribbon and an old button from my button box. The sentiment is from a new Papermania set of clear stamps.

Creative Inspirations challenge 11
This fortnight's challenge at Creative Inspirations is BLING and for my DT 'creation' I did this card using one of the pieces I made when I was demo-ing alcohol inks on Saturday at Southfield. I used Alcohol Inks on acetate and then stamped over the ink with Stazon which I immediately wiped off with paper towel which also removed the Alcohol ink. I added some Diamond Stickles for the bling effect. Apart from the ribbon all the materials I used came from the shop.
This week’s challenge is sponsored by the Crafty Pad, Debs has donated a cute stamp which is a new release from her July collection. The winner will receive this stamp of Shelley Sheep and Twitter.

Busy weekend
Weekend - what weekend!? I've hardly stopped! Yesterday I was demonstrating Alcohol Inks at the shop all day and today I've had to catch up with my Design Team cardmaking as well as having to fit in a little bit of the dreaded housework
I managed to use some of the work I demo'd yesterday for one of the DT cards - check back in a couple of days to see the result of that, but tonight I wanted to post the following card for Carol's Sketch Fun challenge. This was Carol's sketch
and this is my card
I used card from Southfield, backing papers from Papermania Exquisite collection and K&Co Classic K McKenna. The punched flower was done with alcohol inks on acetate finished with a brad which I altered with glitter embossing powder. The image was given to me by one of our regular customers, I don't know the make but I believe she got the set of stamps from QVC.

Stamp Something - Bugs, Butterflies and other winged Somethings
This week the challenge over at Stamp Something is Bugs, Butterflies and other winged Somethings sponsored by the fabby Fred She Said Designs who this week supplied the design team with some of their lovely new Little Miss Bitty images.
I coloured my one with watercolour pencils and Twinkling H2Os with stickles on the wings, layered the image up on card and Basic Grey Sugared backing papers. The ribbon came from my stash and the sentiment is a rub-down.

A just because card
This card isn't for a challenge or a commission or even for anyone's birthday it is a just because card - I made it just because I love the image. It has come once again from sketching stamper digi-stamps. If you've never visited you should take a look now - Christine has some gorgeous images which are a joy to work with!
I coloured the image with Promarkers, a Sakura clear glitter pen and glossy accents.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenge
I haven't entered anything for the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenge for a while but as I was making a couple of little notebooks this week I thought their new challenge Anything but a card was a good one to enter.
I used this fabulous shoe image from Sketching Stamper and coloured it with Promarkers adding some bling with Stickles, a Sakura Glitter pen and finishing with a touch of Glossy Accents on the label. The backing papers are from K&Co and I embellished with flat backed pearls, Prima flowers, more Glossy Accents and a Dovecraft brad.

Val's new shop
My good friend Val has opened a brand new online shop called Bedecked Beads where you will find some really lovely, modestly priced, costume jewellery. She looks for unusual beads and enjoys making each piece different and unique.
She is also offering some candy over on her blog so go and take a look at both for a chance to win this beautiful necklace.

Stamp Something
This week's challenge on Stamp Something is a sketch by Denise and is sponsered by the fantastic Dustin Pike. I have a few of Dustin's brilliant images which make great, fun cards and there are many more available over at his blog - be sure to check out his new Christmas range.
Anyway my DT card is below, the image is called Cupcake Monkey and I've used Sparkly Sweet papers from K&Co and doodled round the edges, the image was coloured with my trusty Promarkers - what did I ever do before I had these pens?! I used some cute little eyelets I got with my Big Bite to embellish and a little green Prima flower with the sentiment which came from Funky Kits.
Going now to catch up with a bit of the dreaded housework before I start work on some new challenges, have a great weekend everyone!

Skater Ian lives it up!
I have used this image of Skater Ian (from The Greeting Farm) which I got from a customer (thanks Lorna), to create a card for this weeks Secret Crafter Saturday challenge which is this great sketch by Jane
The backing paper is by Blonde Moments - I really love their papers and don't have nearly enough of them! The ribbon is Anita's and the sentiment is from Studio G.
I've been having fun at work today playing with alcohol and distress inks, my colleague Jeanette wanted me to teach her some techniques using these inks but she had to take some time off as her mum is very poorly so didn't get to play along after all. Hope your mum is comfortable Jeanette - we're all thinking of you.

Something old, Something new....
The title of this post is the theme for Creative Inspiration's challenge this week Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Not necessarily a wedding card - you could use a new stamp, some blue ribbon - I'm sure you get the gist.
I decided to make a wedding card because I had an old stamp from Stamps Happen that I really like but hardly ever use. I didn't use the whole image but cut out the middle section with the relevant sayings and layered them up. My photograph is poor - it's given the whole thing a blue tinge when the card has a lot of white. If I have time later I'll try to take a better shot.

Allsorts Sketch
I wanted to make a card for my niece who graduates on Wednesday with a 2.1 - (well done Emma!) and decided to design the card using the Allsorts sketch which is by Debs this week - this is the sketch
and here is my card
I used a Leanne Ellis image available from Funky Kits and coloured her, as usual, with my promarkers. The backing papers are from the Sparkly Sweet set from K&Co, the sentiment is by Woodware from the wedding sentiments set. Have a great week everyone!

Pink. Green and Yellow Somethings
This weeks challenge over at Stamp Something is a colour challenge. Just use Pink, Green and Yellow on your project - easy! I used the image supplied by this week's sponsors Peachy Keen Stamps and coloured it with my Promarkers. I cut the circle with a punch and inked the edges, the scallop circle was cut with nestabilities then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder to add texture. The backing paper is once again from the Bloom and Grow paper set from My Mind's Eye.

Carol's Sketch Fun
I intended to enter Carol's Sketch Fun challenge last week but by the time I'd finished the card and photographed it I was too late to enter, so this week I have made sure I got it done in plenty of time. I used one of the Miss Anya images with papers from the Bloom and Grow paper set from My Mind's Eye and followed Carol's sketch.
Hope you like it!

Bookworm
For a change I thought I'd show you a scrapbook page I did at the beginning of the week for a sketch challenge over at Trimcraft. The challenge was on the theme of Words and I couldn't think of anything more appropriate than using this photo of my lovely daughter Lynsey who always has her nose in a book. As the journalling says, when she is not reading these days she's writing, she works as a copywriter and also is about to have her second short story published in a literary magazine, we're just so proud of her!

Too late with this one!
I made this card for Carol's new challenge blog but was so busy I missed the deadline - doh! Enjoyed making it though, I love these new Fairy Doodles Stamps from Buzzcraft and the sketch was great - will have to try harder this week! Would be lovely to hear what you think of this one - I've been feeling a bit neglected with the lack of comments recently : (
The backing paper is from Classic K McKenna by K&Co, the flowers are Prima Artful Collage Flowers, the swirl is a Sizzix die cut and the ribbon and brad are from my stash. The sentiment was part of the Fairy Doodles stamp set.
