Running late
Due to a series of family crises this week (don't ask - you really wouldn't want to know!) I was late with my DT card for the new Scrap the Art challenge which started yesterday and this week is based around the painting Daybreak by Joan Miro. I have used the colours as my inspiration and a fabulous Mo Manning image Bronte and Louis, Mo is this week's sponsor and is offering the lucky winner 3 digi stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil
Please join in with the challenge this week, we are really looking forward to seeing your projects!

White world again
Yes we're back to a thick blanket of snow and disruption on the roads here in Scotland, deep joy! So when I decided to make a card for the new Sugar Bowl challenge I had to use this image of Cozy Nellie all wrapped up warm - this will be me in a couple of hours when I have to head off to work at the library lol
The challenge was a sketch with an added extra of Shabby Chic and I thought these papers from K&Co Roam suited very well, I paper pieced the image with a couple of the papers, colouring the rest of it with Promarkers.

It's Monday
Well here we are - it's a new week, the boys are back to school, my Sis and BIL have gone home and I have 200 Prom Invitations to get on with so I just need to post my card for this week's Creative Inspirations challenge before going to get on with it!
It was my turn to choose the theme for this challenge and I decided on Thank You, my fellow DT members have made some wonderful creations so please go and check them out on the blog. Our sponsor for this week is Stitchy stamps from Digital Ink co and our winner will be able to choose 3 Digi Images as their prize.
For my own card I have used one of Suzanne Wolcot's Gorjuss Girls available from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits, I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out and stuck it with foam pads onto white card edged with ink which in turn was mounted onto maroon card. My backing paper is Basic Grey Lime Rickey and I used my newest Stampin Up border punch down one edge, I cut a rectangle of the Lime Rickey patterned paper and stuck it to the backing paper. The sentiment is from Stampin Up as was the oval punch I used to cut it out. I finished it all of with some blooms from my stash and pink pearls from Kars.
I am also entering the card for the following challenges:
Basic Grey - Colour Combo: Maroon, Lemon & Pink
Totally Gorjuss - Flower Power
Stamp Something - Touch of Spring
and
Friday Sketchers - Sketch

Sugar Bowl Challenge
Crafting time has been very limited this week as my sister Gillian and B.I.L. are staying with us for half term but I just managed to fit one card in yesterday when they popped down to see Mum for a couple of hours.
The card is for the Sugar Bowl challenge and is based on a sketch by Teits, the backing papers are all Basic Grey Marrakech and the other bits and pieces are from the stash collection. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words set by Stampin Up.

Scrap the Art challenge 1
Today sees the launch of a challenge with a difference - Scrap the Art challenge is all about taking inspiration from works of art. Our first challenge is using the wonderful Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, you might be inspired by the title, the colour scheme, the theme of the artwork or maybe the artist himself.
I used the colour scheme but also tried to recreate a bit of the atmosphere of the painting for my card. The background was done using alcohol inks which I spritzed with water to give the 'dappled' finish, I added some Basic Grey patterned paper at the bottom because I thought it looked a bit like the houses in Van Gogh's painting I used some crinkly ribbon with a button attached (from a Christmas cracker) across the middle as it reminded me of the swirling cloud. My image is one of Leanne Ellis's from Sugar Nellie, it was coloured with promarkers and given the distress ink treatment around the image to make it look like night time.
I hope you like my first effort for the new challenge - please go and have a try yourself, you have two weeks to enter your card.
Thanks so much for looking.

Another Mo image
After yesterday's little booboo I'm bouncing back today with a card made with yet another of Mo Manning's fantastic digi images - this one is called Between - she's not quite little girl, not quite a teen. (I love so many of Mo's images it's difficult deciding which ones I need to have!)
I've used backing papers from Basic Grey - Lime Rickey and MME - Bloom and Grow.
Anyway today's card is for three challenges:
Basic Grey - Sketch
Cute Card Thursday - Spots and Dots
and
Allsorts challenge - Get distressed with buttons and a bow.

Creative Inspirations Challenge
Here is my DT card for the new challenge at Creative Inspirations - unfortunately I somehow missed that there was a Valentine's theme going on and just used the colour combo Red & Black for my design - doh!
My image is a Mo Manning digi stamp - Little Girl in Kimono - isn't she gorgeous?

NEW challenge blog - Scrap the Art
Now - onto my news of a new challenge blog - it is called Scrap the Art and each of the challenges will be based on different aspects of a famous painting. Your inspiration can be taken from the colors, shapes, style, layout etc. Any and all stamps and products are welcome for this new bi-monthly challenge.
We really hope you will join us - the first challenge is on February 13th so why not go over and bookmark it now and spread the word.
There is celebratory candy on offer for all new followers!
A card to share
I've made today's card with two challenges in mind - firstly I followed the sketch for challenge no 7 at I Love Promarkers:
I have used one of my favourite stamps, a Leanne Ellis image from Sugar Nellie, this one is called Patience and I just love it! My backing paper is Basic Grey Fruit Cake and the sentiment is from Stampin Up set Whimsical Words. I have added the great big bow to be eligible for the Saturday Spotlight challenge - Bigger is Better - my only worry is will it fit in the envelope??
I'm also entering this for the Scrap, Stamp & Doodle challenge who have an Open theme.
See my newer post for news of a brand new challenge blog coming very soon.
